McGhee Tyson Air Base Fire Station

Alcoa, Tennessee

This project was designed to support the 134th Air Refueling Wing, Tennessee Air National Guard, in Alcoa, TN. This was a 21,000 square ft. facility that was designed as part of the IDIQ contract awarded to the ESG design team. This project included an apparatus bay, alarm room, 6 bedrooms, training room, conference room, dayroom, kitchen, exercise room, and locker room. Special systems in this facility includes breathing air compressor, Aqueous Film Forming Foam distribution system, fire truck hydrant fills, compressed air, gas radiant heating, 4-pipe mechanical system, advanced communications, and emergency power generation. ESG designed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for this facility. Total construction cost was $5.1M.
