Pellissippi State Community College – Blount County Campus

ESG designed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection for this new college campus in Maryville, TN. The campus was completed in July 2010 at a cost of $18M, and included 80,000 square feet in a single building structure. The building includes physics and chemistry labs, nursing school labs, 100 seat auditorium, manufacturing technologies lab, general classrooms, and administrative offices. The HVAC system utilized was a water source heat pump system with 98% efficient boilers, and high efficiency heat pumps. A 60 KVA generator was utilized for the atrium smoke evacuation system. Energy efficient lighting was used throughout the facility. Plumbing systems included water conserving fixtures, vacuum system, compressed air, natural gas, deionized water system, and chemical waste system. This facility was designed to LEED standards.
