Cherokee Ravensford K-12 School

This is a K-12 facility located in Cherokee, North Carolina. This project is a LEED Silver Certified facility with the USGBC and won the 2009 McGraw-Hill Construction Best of the Best Award for the K-12 Educational Division. ESG was the engineer of record for the Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems. A geothermal mechanical system was designed for this campus which utilizes (290) 450’ deep wells with 870 tons of cooling. Other LEED strategies for this campus include water saving fixtures, gray water system, rainwater harvesting, daylighting, and occupancy sensors. This campus contains over 480,000 sq. ft. and was constructed at a cost of $117M.
